What is Battle of the Fans?

Battle of the Fans is the world’s first international lip-syncing competition hosted by people with disabilities! Organized by L’Arche Canada, Battle of the Fans features virtual, bracket-style contests between L’Arche communities across the globe. L’Arche communities compete against each other with performances to spread disability awareness and encourage disability pride.​​

How Does it Work?

Each week a community is assigned a different song and paired up against another L’Arche community. Using all the creativity our community can muster (and we have a lot!), we create an amazing lip sync video!

On Tuesday, Nov. 9, at 8 a.m. EST, L’Arche Long Island’s first lip sync video will go live on YouTube and the battle will begin! We’ll have 34 hours — until 6 p.m. EST on Wednesday — to get as many points as possible to outscore our opponent. And just like the name says: the fans choose the winner! We think L’Arche Long Island’s fans are the best and we hope you will prove us right!

If we score the most points, we’ll advance to the next round and be given a new song to lip sync.

How Do We Score Points to Win? 
There are three ways to score points: 
     1 dollar donated = 1 point 
     1 YouTube view = 2 points 
       1 YouTube like = 3 points 

That’s right! YouTube “likes” are worth 3x more than dollars, so we need your help to spread the word! YouTube only allows one like/thumbs up per YouTube account so invite your friends and family to learn about and support L’Arche!

Donated funds will be divided 50% to L’Arche Atlanta, 50% to L’Arche International’s Global Solidarity Fund to support L’Arche communities in need throughout the world.

Tournament Schedule
Matchups will occur every Tuesday from 8 a.m. EST, to Wednesday at 6 p.m. EST, starting November 9.

• Nov. 16-17: Sweet Sixteen
• Nov. 23-24: Elite Eight
• Nov. 30-Dec. 1: Semi-Finals (Giving Tuesday!)
• Dec. 7-8: World Championships
